Andrea von Ramm
Andrea von Ramm and Sterling
Jones were both founding members of the legendary Studio der frühen Musik
(Thomas Binkley) and performed with this ensemble for eighteen years. The work
of this ensemble which is documentated on numerous recordings was of greatest
influence for the reconstruction of medieval performance
practice.
Andrea von Ramm also taught as lecturer in recitation and rhetorics at Basel
University and made world-wide concert tours with her one-woman-show with
medieval and modern repertories.
She has been busy in giving courses, directing theater productions and holding guest-professerships all over the world.
Over 10 years she participated in the work of ensemble Ordo Virtutum as adviser, performer and critic.
She died in November 1999.
